I always gravitated toward the children. Even as a teenager at our large Italian family gatherings I was the one who would rather sit at the kids table. I was the one who would organize the game of Duck Duck Goose or Ring Around the Rosy. I was the one who would feed the crying babies their bottles or change their diapers.
My interest for children continued in college where I began studying Early Childhood Education.
After a year I wanted to understand how, why and what made children want to learn and what made them tick. After earning a degree in Psychology and acquiring 20 years of experience I found out one thing that makes children tickā¦.LOVE. With love, dedication and consistency any child or adult will thrive.
I have had the pleasure of gaining my experience from several different areas and cultures.
I began as a teacher of school agers at LaPetite in Concord California. I loved teaching them math, critical thinking and socialization through games such as Monopoly, Life and Battleship. I also became the teacher of the Montessori program where I taught the children science, math, home economics, and language arts.
It was my next experience that made me realize that teaching was what I was supposed to do.
